2025 Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches Hometown Heroes Contest

OPEN ONLY TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF UNITED STATES,
18 YEARS OF AGE AND OLDER AS OF THE DATE OF ENTRY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Open only to legal U.S. residents, residing in the Greater South Florida Metropolitan Area who are 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Employees of PGA TOUR ENTERPRISES, LLC and each of their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliate companies and advertising and promotion agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and/or those living in the same household of each, whether or not related, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law and subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws.

  2. HOW TO ENTER: The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches Hometown Heroes Contest (the “Contest”) begins at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (“ET”) on November 11, 2024 and ends at 3:00 p.m. ET on February 1, 2025 (“Contest Period”). During the Contest Period, you may nominate someone by entering online at https://pgatourcm.formstack.com/forms/cognizant_classic_hometown_heroes Web site”), registering and uploading an essay on the experience and sacrifices while in service of nominee (collectively, the “Entry”). All Entries must be submitted by February 1, 2025 to be eligible. Mechanically reproduced entries are automatically void. Use of computer programs and other automatic means to is prohibited and will be void. The Entry must: 1) be complete to be eligible; 2) include essay of nominee; and 3) be the original work of the entrant, may not have been previously published, and may not have won previous awards. essay must be uploaded in accordance with the specifications set forth at the Contest Web site (incorporated herein by reference) and must be non-professional. Directions will be provided online for the format requirements and uploading instructions for the essay portion of your Entry submission. Entrant agrees that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. Entrants agree that they will not use the Entry during the Contest Period for any other public or commercial purpose, including, without limitation, posting the Entry to any online social media networks, without the written consent of Sponsor in each instance. Any Entry deemed inappropriate or unsuitable, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, will disqualify such Entry. Any essay, submitted on behalf of the nominee, must also have a release form completed by nominee for submission with Entry. If a minor is featured in any Entrant’s essay, the release will need to be completed by the minor’s parent/legal guardian. All release forms (which will be emailed after entry submission to those entrants who have a third party included in their essay) must be fully executed and returned to Sponsor via email by February 1, 2025. Any Entry or portion thereof that is, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, obscene, profane, lewd, defamatory, contains any third party materials, or otherwise violates or infringes (or may infringe) any copyright, trademark, logo, mark that identifies a brand or other proprietary right of any person living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) or entity, defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about other people or companies, contains any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, e-mail addresses or street addresses or is otherwise objectionable, will not be considered and may disqualify the entrant. The video (including any clothing worn therein) should not contain any visible logos, drawings, cartoons, phrases, trademarks or other third-party materials. Entrants may not copy or otherwise plagiarize the Entry from any source. Any Entry that is not in compliance with the above or with these Official Rules, does not meet the Contest requirements, or is in violation of any law will void such Entry and entrant may be disqualified. Entry must be in keeping with Sponsor's image and may not be offensive, as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, nor can they defame or invade publicity rights or privacy rights of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any person's personal or proprietary rights. In such an event, the Entry will be disqualified from the Contest. All Entries submitted become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned. Normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by Entrants’ online service will apply. Limit one Entry per person/email address during the Contest Period. Multiple Entries submitted by one entrant will be void. By entering, Entrant hereby represents and warrants to have read these Official Rules and are fully familiar with their contents and criteria.

  3. JUDGING: All eligible Entries received will be judged on or about February 10, 2025, by Sponsor, whose decisions are final on all matters relating to this Contest. Judging will be based on the following criteria: most compelling (25%), most inspiring (25%), relevance to theme (25%) and ability to evoke emotions in judges (25%), (collectively, the “Judging Criteria”). The Entry with the highest score from each participating city will be deemed the potential Prize winner from that city. In the event of a tie, tied Entries will be re-judged by the Judges/Sponsor based on the following criteria only: ability to evoke emotions in judges (100%). Decisions of Judges/Sponsor are final with respect to all matters relating to this Contest. Prize award is subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules. By participating, entrants agree to the Official Rules and the decisions of the Judges/Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects.

  4. PRIZE: One winner shall receive the following: two (2) shared hospitality tickets (parking pass included) and one (1) merchandise gift bag. The estimated retail value (“ERV”) of the prize is US $475.00. No substitution or transfer of prize by a winner is permitted. All federal, state, local, municipal and provincial taxes are the sole responsibility of the winner. All other expenses, and costs not expressly listed above including but not limited to per diem expenses, such as meals, rental car or air fare, gratuity, greens fees or cart fees associated with the prize but not specifically listed in the prize description in these Official Rules is the sole responsibility of winner.he Prize must be redeemed in its entirety by February 14, 2025. No substitution may be made, except by Sponsor in the event the prize (or portion thereof) cannot be awarded for any reason, in which case, Sponsor will award a prize of equal/greater value.

  5. GENERAL RULES: The potential winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability/publicity release (where legal) and all applicable tax documents within ten (10) days of notification attempt or the prize will be forfeited, and an alternate winner may be selected. Return of prize or prize notification as undeliverable or inability to reach potential winner using information provided on the official entry form may result in disqualification and an alternate winner may be selected. Any guest of the winner (or parent/legal guardian if guest is a minor) may be required to execute a release of liability prior to use of prize, if applicable. The Prize may be subject to certain restrictions and blackout dates. All material submitted becomes the sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned. Winner assumes all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this Contest or use or redemption of prize. By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of Sponsor. Prizes are nontransferable and no cash substitutions are allowed except by Sponsor, who reserves the right to award a prize of equal or greater value in its discretion. In the event of sabotage, acts of God, computer virus or other events or causes beyond Sponsor’s reasonable control that corrupt the integrity, administration, security or proper operation of the Contest, Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Contest. Notice of cancellation of Contest or tournament will be posted at www.PGATOUR.com.

  6. RELEASE. By entering the Contest, you agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor, Administrator, and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers, directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from and against any damage, loss, expense, injury of any kind, claim or cause of action (collectively, “Claims”), including, but not limited to, personal injury, death, or damage to or loss of property, arising out of participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. You further agree to release and hold harmless the Released Parties from any Claim brought or asserted by any third party against the Released Parties due to or arising out of use of your name, persona, likeness and photo or any other rights granted to Sponsor, including any claims for, but not limited to trademark, copyright, or other intellectual property rights, rights of publicity, right of privacy or defamation. Except where prohibited, participation in the Contest and acceptance of a prize constitutes winner’s consent to Sponsor a royalty-free, non-exclusive rights, titles, to use winner’s name, likeness, photograph, voice, opinions and/or hometown and state for promotional purposes in any media, worldwide, without further payment or consideration.

  7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY. The Released Parties are not responsible for: (1) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by Entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to malfunctions, interruptions, or disconnections in phone lines or network hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the Entry process or the Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the processing of Entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from Entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize.

  8. DISPUTES. Except where prohibited, Entrant agrees that: (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate Florida State Court; (2) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering this Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and (3) under no circumstances will Entrant be permitted to obtain awards for, and Entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of the Entrant and Sponsor in connection with the Contest, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of Florida without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules (whether of the State of Florida in the U.S. or any other jurisdiction), which would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of Florida.

  9. PRIVACY & PERSONAL INFORMATION. Any personal information supplied by you to Sponsor will be subject to Sponsor’s privacy policy posted at https://www.pgatour.com/company/privacy-policy.html;. Personal information collected from entrants will be used by Sponsor for the purpose of administering the Contest and to provide entrants with information relating to products, services and Contests of Sponsor and affiliates of Sponsor, subject to an option to opt-out of such communications. Sponsor shall not sell, share, or otherwise disclose personal information of entrants with third parties other than to third parties engaged by Sponsor to fulfill the above purposes or as permitted pursuant to Sponsor’s Privacy Policy.
