"Swing into STEM" Event Inspires Future Innovators in Palm Beach County

Palm Beach County, FL – Yesterday, the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches and the Edna Runner Tutorial Center partnered together to engage young students in an exciting day of STEM-focused activities, all centered around the game of golf. The event, held at the Edna Runner Tutorial Center, featured interactive workshops where students coded robots to navigate a golf course, blending fun and education in a unique setting.

The day culminated with the announcement of a $25,000 grant to the Edna Runner Tutorial Center. This grant will help fund the center's summer camp, providing more students with enriching educational experiences. The funding will also support the development of new initiatives designed to inspire creativity and foster a love for STEM subjects among young learners.

Todd Fleming, Executive Director of the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, highlighted the event's impact, stating, "Our dedication to supporting nonprofits like the Edna Runner Tutorial Center extends far beyond tournament week. We believe in making a lasting impact in Palm Beach County by providing consistent support throughout the year, and we are so grateful we were able to join these amazing students for a day of science and fun. Today's event and the $25,000 grant exemplify our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of innovators and thinkers right here in The Palm Beaches."
